Many ESL students entering the University of California are unprepared for the writing requirements of their colleges. The presenters will discuss the UC Analytical Writing Placement Exam and the Basic Writing Program at UCSD. The presenters will provide several examples of student writing and the scoring rubric used by the UC system.
